TLC Community Home > Life Events > Membership Beginnings
It is never too early to start saving for the future. At TLC, we promote financial literacy and we believe in members starting early. TLC encourages parents and grandparents to start a savings program at birth for their loved ones. TLC has the products and services for great financial beginnings and beyond.
S.A.V.E. Program (Student Account Ventures in Education)
Credit union members age 0 - 15 can enjoy a wide-range of benefits throught the TLC Community Credit Union S.A.V.E. Program. Started as an education program in several Lenawee County school districts, TLC now offers it to any TLC member up to age 15. it is a great way to learn about financial responsibility and have fun at the same time.
The opening deposit is only $.25. There are no monthly account fees for S.A.V.E. members. Plus kids can watch their savings grow as we pay dividends on the balance in their account (no minimum balance required to earn a dividend in TLC's S.A.V.E. Program).
Save at school
Some SAVE members have the opportunity to save money at school. TLC Community Credit Union has in-school programs that accept deposits once a week.
How can my school become a part of the in-school S.A.V.E. Program?
The S.A.V.E. program provides a chance for students to learn the inner workings of a credit union through education, hands on work experience, promotions and contests.
It also includes group and classroom seminars and involvement in community organizations. TLC has worked with such groups as the Boy Scouts, after school clubs, career days, Junior Achievement, Communities In Schools and more.
